POLICY
Safety, health care and environment protection had been always top priorities for Unicorn, that is why all actions we undertake have respect to broad Health and Safety. Unicorn has created SGU (Sicherheit, Gesundheit Und Umwelt) system, which procedures cover all the aspects of work health and safety as well as environmental effectiveness. During work on this system we have been consulted by professional company specializing in this area - M-Plus. UNICORN as loyal partner in sector, keeps bringing, work safety and environmental standards to the level to meet business partners and supervising institutions, targets. UNICORN is a member of BG ETEM – institution supervising health and safety rules in Germany, at present we are in procedure of receiving AMS Certificate.
WORK SAFETY
To secure safe and friendly work environment for our staff, we conduct cyclical trainings about using means of personal safety , principles of climbing lattice constructions and working with power lines:
- EUP (Elektrotechnische Unterwiesene Persone) – this training aims to inculcate principles of working on power lines , five rules of safe work, acknowledging safety system.
- Steigkurs – this training upgrades skills of safe moving around steel construction and shows all area of rescue after accidents.
- VCA – training of general safety at building sites.
- Eindtermen werken aan of In de nabijheid van hoogspanningslijnen – training enables to work on power lines in Holland, with particular emphasis on reporting during power lines turn offs.
- Erste Hilfe - first aid training.
HEALTH
To provide full health security for our workers and third party people we use highest quality safety equipment. All machinery is cyclical reviewed and attested . On sites, there are trainings with particular emphasis on dangers that might occur on particular project, especially when our work might affect third party people.
ENVIRONMENT
During construction of power lines it is impossible to avoid interference with environment. We train our personnel to make this interference as small as possible. On sites we cooperate with ecologists to note all dangers to natural environment there, together we find ways to get the job done without harm to flora and fauna.
